Meet Amanda Vigue
Amanda is a library page in our Egg Harbor Township branch. She is a talented artist who enjoys working in pastels.
"... they're colorful, versatile and fun to use."
What do you like best about working at the library?
It’s close to home and I have flexible hours. I have two other jobs on top of this one: a substitute teacher for Hamilton Township and a volunteer fencing instructor for Egg Harbor Township Recreation Center, so I truly appreciate my freedom to make my own schedule. I've worked here for 6 years. |

Have you always been interested in the library?
I’ve been going to the EHT library as long as I can remember. There was always something fun or interesting to do, especially in the summer. As a teenager, I was really involved in the Summer Playhouse at the Egg Harbor Township library. My sister and I co-wrote the scripts and assisted with their production. We also made some of the props and the scenery. In a way, I’m still working behind the scenes. |
What is your favorite medium? | ![]() |
I love soft pastels – they’re colorful, versatile, and fun to use. They are messy though, so I often use color pencils instead. Moth (shown at right) and Ladybugs (above) are done in color pencils. American Grizzly is done with oil pastels. |
What are you currently reading?
Right now I am finishing Emma. I’m also reading the latest Midnight Louie mystery (Cat in a Vegas Gold Vendetta) by Carole Nelson Douglas.
Thank you, Amanda.
