The Atlantic County Library System was happy to write a new chapter into our story when, on October 1, 2021, the Absecon Library became the ACLS Absecon Branch.
If you are an existing Absecon Library patron, stop by any ACLS branch so that we can get you a new card and number. Your new card number will give you access to all of ACLS services including our complete collection of physical materials, eBooks and eAudiobooks as well as online databases and digital media. While your Absecon card number will continue to work for the South Jersey Audiobook and eBook Download Center (OverDrive) throughout the end of the year, the sooner you update to an ACLS card and log in as an ACLS patron, the sooner you will enjoy access to a bigger selection of titles and eMagazines. In the course of the transition, you will also see the upgrading and addition of new computers, scanners, copiers, printers and a fax machine at the branch.
If you have both an ACLS card and an Absecon Library card, your ACLS card is now all you’ll need. Just let an ACLS staff member know so that we can update our system. As always, any holder of an ACLS card is invited to use any of our now 10 branches throughout Atlantic County.
As we begin to blend the libraries there may be a few bumps in the road and we apologize now for any inconveniences along the way. Please know we are working to make this as much of an easy transition as possible. Ultimately, we know, the outcome will be of great benefit to the Atlantic County community.
