The Galloway branch of the Atlantic County Library System will reopen to the public on Monday, September 29 following the installation of a new $2.5 million HVAC system. The library had been closed since mid-June for construction.
“We’re pleased that the work was completed on schedule with limited inconvenience,” stated County Executive Dennis Levinson. “The new system should further enhance the enjoyment of this important community asset.”
The branch, located at 306 E. Jimmie Leeds Road, is the fourth county library to receive a new HVAC system with partial funding from the NJ State Library Construction Bond Grants and American Rescue Plan monies. HVAC systems were previously installed in Hammonton, Egg Harbor Township and Mays Landing.
During the construction, hours at the Absecon branch had been extended for greater access by the public. Those extended hours will now end with the reopening of the Galloway branch.
