What Exit... ? From October 1st through the 18th, the Egg Harbor Township Branch is hosting the "Roadways of Tomorrow" exhibit. The presentation tells the story of the Garden State Parkway and includes artifacts and pictures borrowed from the NJ Turnpike Authority's Archives. Some of the items on display include a photograph of Howard Johnson, the restaurateur who brought the first restaurants to the Parkway's rest stops, a promotional map of the Parkway highlighting recreational spots along the road, and the first toll ever paid on the Parkway. If you stop by the exhibit, you can also pick up a free bookmark with the original "Leaf" Parkway logo and some interesting, lesser-known facts about the Parkway. Read more about What Exit... ?
