New at the library

BLACK HISTORY MONTH EVENTS AT ATLANTIC COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM/PLEASANTVILLE

Atlantic County Library System/Pleasantville has several events scheduled for Black History Month.

A Harlem Renaissance Party is planned for Thursday, February 11 at 5:30 pm. Everyone is invited to attend for a program of jazz, lively discussion, and sweet treats.

On Wednesday, February 24 at 5 pm, the Movie Night selection is the PG-rated The Express, which tells the story of college football hero Ernie Davis, the first African-American to win the Heisman Trophy, who became an icon for the civil rights movement in the early 1960’s.

Everyone is invited to attend the Black History Month Poetry Event on Thursday, February 25 at 6 pm. The presentation of poetry readings is emceed by Joanne Peopples.
