In 2009 the Margate City Public Library decided to purchase a standalone Integrated Library System (ILS), ending its 10 year participation in the Atlantic County Library System’s Sirsi/Dynix Symphony catalog. In July 2009 the libraries began working together to withdraw Margate’s records from the Atlantic County Library System.
Effective November 4, 2009, the way Atlantic County Library System patrons request materials owned only by Margate Library will change. Soon Margate’s materials will no longer be visible in the Atlantic County Library System catalog. Both libraries will continue to share materials following standard interlibrary loan practices.
There are several ways to request library materials which are not owned by the Atlantic County Library System. First check the ACLS catalog to see if the material is owned by the Atlantic County Library System. If not, users may place holds on the desired materials using JerseyCat, the statewide library catalog. Or visit our “We’ll Find It” webpage at atlanticlibrary.org/ill to obtain the assistance of the Interlibrary Loan staff.
As always, library staff will be more than happy to assist in locating materials. |
